LONE RANGERS
The Lone Rangers is for our up and coming riders. It is a nice and relaxed way to start pony club life.
It is aimed at children who are not quite ready for joining the rallies in open spaces. We have a lesson once a month in an inside school or outside enclosed school, these lessons are aimed to be fun and to increase the childrens confidence and strengthen their partnership with their ponies.
In the school holidays we also hold a fun ride out on the moors where we get used to being in control in open spaces (with adults on foot), and riding on different terrain too. Our rides go up and down dale through water over trees and can often end up with a picnic or trip to the pub for cheesy chips!
Members of the Lone Rangers are invited to all pony club events and now at our events we have classes targeted for our Lone Ranger riders.

Friday 3rd June 2011 - Lone Rangers Robin Ride
On friday morning 11 intrepid riders took part in our first Robin Ride which is aimed at our younger members. The Lone Rangers and friends met close to Woolacombe Cross on the outskirts of Bere Alston. The route took them out to Quarry Corner, along the grass strip down to where the Gawton bridlepath crosses the road, along Trendle Lane to HuntersOak. Then down to Leigh Farm following the bridle path up through the two big fields and down the track leading to the Collytown road, returning to the venue (Tammy's field). The weather was glorious with cloudless blue skies and a nice breeze to cool down the ponies, riders and walkers to say nothing of the dog! A HUGE THANK YOU to Maddy and Lydia who came to help and did a great job as road marshalls. Tammy for the use of her field for parking, playing and picnics!Rio for being a trail blazer and showing everyone the way. Tammy's mum Marie who provided everyone with sausage rolls, chilled drinks and gingerbread men Yum, yum!A very well done to Bethany who was getting to grips with a new pony (we all know that can be a daunting time). Finally, a special mention for the youngest rider little Izzy who is only 2 years old for whom it was the longest ride of her life! She amazed everyone, stayed on all the way and smiled from start to finish - FABULOUS!
February Half Term Ride 2011
Wow what a turn out, we had a prompt 11 am start as rain forecast at 12, so we left on time and collected people on our way.Typically the weather was overcast and mist came down but did not dampen our spirits..I think it is fair to sat the Lone Rangers are not fair weather riders.. By request off Matthew we went to the chip pub, and I was asked 'Tracy can you order just one potion of cheesy chips for him as his mum could share his'..

February Half Term Ride 2010
February half term ride 2010, this is known as our four season ride, we started of over cast then it got cold, and on way back it snowed on us, to warm up we headed to the pub for hot chocolate which we actually ended up drinking outside in the sunshine..There was a small turnout due to the weather but not dampen any off our spirits as fun was had by all.
